Shout Outs

(Shout Outs are collected throughout the week from members of the school and greater community.)

We began a new initiative to acknowledge staff members that are “Over The Top” each week. Administrators in each building catch employees going above and beyond in their typical duties and nominate them for a weekly raffle to celebrate them. Students support this program by placing star stickers by the nominee’s door or office. At the end of the week all nominee’s names are placed in a raffle where one name is drawn to receive a gift card (supported by the PTA). 28 staff members have been nominated. Our raffle winners are:

  • Heather Shupenko
  • Maryssa Bombardier
  • Donna Robbins
  • Elizabeth Harrington
  • Cheryl O’Leary
  • Monica McGinnis
  • Julia Robinson

Updates

This week is very exciting for our senior class. The calendar is filled with events including the senior breakfast,  the award presentation, the senior banquet culminating in the graduation ceremony on Saturday!  They have worked very hard and overcame the adversities that COVID brought.  Each of our graduates are poised to be successful and productive in their next endeavor!  Congratulations to them and to their families!

I want to acknowledge how difficult the past couple of weeks have been.  As we work through the disappointment of the failed override, we continue to maintain momentum on finishing this school year strong and planning for next year.  There is miscommunication swirling around and I want to reassure the community that I am confident and determined to modernize and move the district forward next year and beyond.  My team and I  have worked closely with our municipal leaders to minimize the budget impact on the schools.  Through creative budgeting and problem solving, we are landing in a place that will continue to fund our strategic initiatives, minimally impact our student’s learning experience (class size and class offerings) and ensure our staff receives the support they need to modernize their practices.  The following is a timeline of the next steps:

  • June 3, 2024  Supt. releases the budget
  • June 6, 2024 Special SC Meeting. FY25  Recommended Budget Proposal
  • June 10, 2024 Town Finance Committee Meeting Full Recommended Budget
  • June 24, 2024  Special Town Meeting – Budget Vote
