Shout Outs:

  • From very grateful parents: “Thank you to the 2nd grade teachers of Penn Brook who took the initiative to start a book group for students who are reading above grade level! This group has used a 3rd grade novel and worksheets, and has independently led discussions about the text that has proven to be very engaging! We greatly appreciate the efforts of all these teachers who have continued to challenge our students academically; and specifically Mrs. McNulty for her fun, supportive and great effort to make this year a success.”
  • Krissy McCoy spent time over the winter break preparing several cases of chickens and turkeys to help prep for the new January menu items.  Krissy continues to go above and beyond with improving our food service.  Thank you Krissy!
  • A huge shout out to our maintenance and custodial staff that are helping manage the snow, ice and muck! Thank you, Thank you!

Budget Updates:

  • On Monday evening the Georgetown Select Board voted unanimously to approve a $6,000,000 proposition 2 ½ tax increase as a warrant article for the May 5, 2025 Town Meeting.  If this is approved by the community at Town Meeting it will then be a ballot question at the yearly elections which are held on May 12, 2025.  The $6,000,000 number includes fully funding all the municipal departments and increasing the town’s reserves.  If this is passed by the townspeople it should help stabilize the financial future of Georgetown.  It is expected that this tax increase will sustain cost increases for between 3 and 5 years.
