Shout Outs:

  • A colleague of Laura Valli’s, ELA 7th grade teacher,  wanted to shout her out for offering her time to be at a School Committee Meeting to share her positive thoughts with our community regarding the new High Quality Instructional Materials.  Laura goes above and beyond on a daily basis for her students.  Thank you Laura
  • As described by a colleague, Mr. Masys, PE teacher,  brings amazing enthusiasm to each and every class that he teaches.  He recognizes and helps motivate students that need it.  He has a great rapport with his students and makes a difference in their lives. Thank you Brian!!
  • Sherri Pitella and Laura Valli are being acknowledged by their peers for truly being a breath of fresh air at our middle school. Their positive attitudes and warm, uplifting energy are what our school needs. Both are incredibly calm, understanding, and deeply dedicated to their students, creating a nurturing environment that makes a real impact. They bring a ray of sunshine to our school every day.

Updates:

The School Committee meeting that was held on February 27, 2025 was potentially the best SC meeting I have participated in.  We started with our Student Representative, Hannah Stevens, with her sharing the student perspective of the High School.  We then had a robust Spotlight On Excellence (as seen above).  We shifted into an amazing presentation by four of our teachers who discussed their experience with our new High Quality Instructional Materials.  I can easily say it is worth the few minutes of viewing to gain a deeper understanding of the early impact our teachers and students are experiencing with the new materials.  Click here to view.  We finished the meeting with a discussion on the Strategic Plan culminating in a unanimous vote by the School Committee approving it.  This plan becomes our map for the next five years.  We will have regular updates and use data to show we are moving in the right direction or, if need be, data will show us we need to adjust our practices.
