            Shout Outs

Georgetown educators are participating in a year-long Deeper Learning initiative with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. I want to share immense appreciation for Brian Taylor (HS Math), Cerise Cauthron (HS Science), and Ben Batchelder (Civics) for their excitement and engagement in this opportunity.

UPDATES:

There are changes that will make our schools look and feel different this year. First, the Penn Brook faculty are excited to welcome our littlest learners as we created 3 PreK classrooms folded into the first floor of the building! We are thrilled about the addition of Shannon Tenney to the building who will expand her role and expertise to support, in addition to PreK, Kindergarten and First Grade. This will help build a consistent learning experience for our early childhood students. The faculty at the Middle and High School are also excited to welcome the sixth graders to the building and support our students with developmentally appropriate schooling and seamless transitions.

We are ready for Wednesday! The buildings look beautiful. The new teachers have been onboarded and attended 2 days of orientation.  Many returning teachers have been in to set up their classrooms. New curriculum has arrived for high school Science and ELA.  We are poised for a great year!  Everyone should enjoy their last few days off from school. Athletics:  I am excited for our golf, volleyball, soccer and cross country sports teams to begin their competitive seasons.  Our Athletic Director, Jessica Whitehead, is also an Athletic Trainer.  She created a video to explain the difference in each role.  Here is the link.
