UPDATES:
- The future of GHS: As I mentioned last week, I have received multiple emails and phone calls concerning the future of the Georgetown School District so my plan is to use the Blog as a consistent means of sharing updated information.
- During this week’s School Committee meeting, September 25th, I will be sharing updates from the first 120 days across the plan. This update will include information that has been gathered thus far about the different options being investigated.
- The school district has approximately 750 families that have children in the schools. We have 318 completed surveys to date. It would be great if we could get everyone to fill it out! Feel free to share the link with others in the community. We will keep the survey open until October 25, 2025.
- We held our first Community Listening session on Monday, September 22, 2205. We had 6 family attendees, 1 Select Board Member and 2 School Committee members. Here is the schedule for the upcoming sessions:
September 30, 2025 from 7:00am – 8:00am at the Perley School, 3rd Floor
October 15, 2025 from 6:00pm-7:00pm at the GHS Auditorium
October 23, 2025 from 11:00am-12:00pm at the Perley School, 3rd Floor
- Next Steps: Towards the end of October we will host a community session to share the data from the listening sessions. We will also talk about the process of how we are moving forward to rebuild the high school, the regulations regarding regionalization and how to enter into a tuition agreement – Georgetown pays another school district to educate certain grade levels of our students and to share potential partners for some of the options.
