Shout Outs
- A community member reached out and wanted to thank all those that contributed to a wonderful and memorable Soccer Player Senior Night
- During the transition of a new Band Teacher, Anne Grant and Brian Fanning have gone above and beyond to ensure that students, district wide, didn’t miss their band classes. Thank you Anne and Brian!
- The district’s year long professional development calendar was created to support all educators and staff’s development this year. It is focused on our coherence model to move the district forward. Laurie Greenwood deserves a HUGE shout out for her diligence and professionalism. Thank You Laurie for always making sure our staff have what they need!!
Website Update
The team is continuing to fine tune our district website. There are a couple new pages that I want to bring to your attention:
- School Committee Policy Manual. In partnership with the Massachusetts Association of School Committees, the Georgetown School Committee completed and approved an entirely new policy manual. Many of the policies have been tweaked and/or changed. Here is the link if you want to review.
- The School Committee has added a page that helps inform the community of the Collective Bargaining process with the teachers union. Here is the link where you will find information on tentative agreements, the SC’s financial package and other pertinent details.
Strategic Planning
As of today, we have received 230 survey responses! We are planning to extend the time frame of survey completion from October 31, 2024 through November 15, 2024. In addition, we are planning and preparing for individual interviews and focus groups. If you requested either, you will receive information about it in the next couple of weeks. If you have not completed the survey, I encourage you to do so. The more voices we capture the deeper our data will be resulting in a richer 5 year plan.
Here is the QR code if you want to complete it on your mobile device and the link if you are like me and prefer to complete the survey on your computer!
