This weekend 29 Georgetown High School students attended a 40 hour Model United Nations simulation in Boston. These students worked diligently to solve problems, work collaboratively and think critically about some profound and challenging topics. A few examples include the Sudan Crisis, the War of the Roses, the United Nations Trade and Development Organization, the World Intellectual Property Organization and the 1910 Mexican Revolution. It is an honor and a privilege to see our students step outside of their comfort zone and tackle these challenges head on. Shout out to our award winner Julia Halmen. She won an award for her position paper on the Mozambican Civil War. Congrats Julia! — Alexandra Hayoz, Model UN Advisor
