The Royal Way: Celebration

Bentley Scott, a student at Georgetown Middle High School, appeared in North Shore Music Theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol.

Bentley began his theatre journey last year during GMHS’s production of Beauty and the Beast. Following that experience, he got involved in TTS productions last winter, where he continued to build on his skills and passion for theatre.

During his involvement with TTS productions, Bentley was encouraged to audition for North Shore Music Theatre by Dylan Prime, a graduate of GMHS. Encouraged also by a friend who was in the North Shore Music Theatre’s production a previous year, Bentley auditioned and earned a role in this year’s production of A Christmas Carol.

The experience provided Bentley with greater exposure to a professional theatre environment, including performing in a theatre-in-the-round setting, which differs from the traditional flat stage. He worked alongside both a youth cast and a professional adult cast, gaining valuable experiences that contributed to his performance.

Throughout this performance, Bentley was able to work with a professional production team, including stage managers, wardrobe staff, microphone technicians and casting directors.

The supportive and inclusive environment allowed him to form connections with both the cast and crew, many of whom served as role models throughout this experience.

“Doing A Christmas Carol was a great experience for me. Working with the adult cast taught me a lot and I made new friends working with the youth cast. Everyone was so friendly. I didn’t want it to end!” said Bentley.
